Finalising on Aspect--post on blog by 13 June 5 pm

Choose your Aspect question and keep these points in mind:

1. Choose only one work
2. Does the aspect explore a significant concept found in the work?
3. Does it satisfy all the marking criteria ( refer to your student Hand book)?
4. Have you discovered links with the literary devices used?

Look through the very useful website:http://mrhoyesibwebsite.com/

Only difference for you is in the  new syllabus , you deal with only one work. However it is still a good idea to go through this website for guidance.Go the left hand bar and click on the World Literature link.

Post your aspect on the blog and invite comments from other HL students.I shall comment only if I feel that the aspect is totally unsuitable.

Your deadline for this 13 June, 5 pm. Come on , don't groan--your entire first draft deadline is 18th June:)

    2. I'd like to change my topic for I had a better and stronger understanding of the book after I read it again. Can I go with "A Doll's House' as a bildungsroman of Nora?

  4. Characteristics that Nora possessed that made her different from the typical women of the times. (A doll's House)

  5. You have massive research involved that needs to be made on the typical women of the times---this is more of a sociological study---will not satisfy the world lit criteria.

I like that you want to do a character study--good idea---word it differently....others please help Arnav out.

    1. How about exploring how Nora was different from how women were expected to be in the society?" This will not be a sociological research because there are several points in the story which do point to what was expected of women. Just brain storming here..

  6. just to confirm, this aspect statement wil be what our whole world Lit will be based on (this would be the topic), wouldn't it?

  7. Nora’s break from innocence to maturity and the dynamic role played by her.

  8. Clytemnestra defies the traditional role of women in Ancient Greece when viewed in terms of action and dialogue alone.

Is this okay for my aspect statement/question?

  9. Or is it too narrow a topic? Let me know :)
